Sentencing Task Force

The Sentencing Task Force was created pursuant to Senate Bill 2009-286 to look at sentencing in Colorado. The Governor and Attorney General submitted this letterpdf icon to the Commission regarding specific areas of focus for sentencing reform.

This Task Force met from August 2009 to April 2010. Following this series of meetings, it was determined that the scope of work required re-tooling. A new task force, labeled the Comprehensive Sentencing Task Force, was created to follow up on the initial Sentencing Task Force efforts and to re-evaluate and set priorities.

Subsequently, the Commission returned to the topic of sentencing, seating the Sentencing Reform Task Force in September of 2020.

No Further Meetings

The Sentencing Task Force met between August 2009 and April 2010. It was replaced by the Comprehensive Sentencing Task Force (2010-2014).
