The CCJJ Oversight Subcommittee on Re-Entry concluded its work in June 2011. The Commission returned to the topic of re-entry by seating a Re-Entry Task Force in April 2015.
The original mission of the CCJJ Oversight Subcommittee on Re-Entry was to review, analyze, assess, coordinate, and prioritize recommendations provided by the four re-entry related Task Forces. Please see the original Charter and Scope of Work occurring between May 2008 and June 2010. The last of these four original task forces concluded in June 2010. Subsequently, the mission of this Subcommittee was to evaluate the implementation status of these recommendations and to determine whether additional work or ongoing re-evaluation and follow-up is necessary.
At the direction of the CCJJ in May 2011, the Re-Entry Oversight Subcommittee reviewed the implementation status of CCJJ recommendations produced since 2010 and provided a report to the Commission at the June 2011 Commission meeting. At that meeting, the Commission considered having the Subcommittee perform a similar function each subsequent year. Rather than continuing this Subcommittee for the remainder of the existence of the Commission, the responsibility for these functions (reviewing and updating the status of the CCJJ recommendations) was transferred to the Commission Staff. Therefore, this Subcommittee was concluded in June 2011.
