The role of the CCJJ Minority Over-Representation (MOR) Subcommittee is to focus and advance the continuing efforts by the Commission regarding specific issues of minority over-representation in the criminal justice system. The Commission activates this subcommittee when there are specific assignments or tasks to accomplish that require intensive research or study. Otherwise, the Commission is vigilant in assessing the potential for any disproportionate minority impact that may result from its recommendations. This area of focus was added to the duties of the Commission by House Bill 2008-1119. All members of the subcommittee are appointed by the CCJJ Chair. The MOR Subcommittee meets on an as-needed basis.
