The work of the Community Corrections Task Force has concluded. The Task Force met from April 2013 to October 2016. The Task Force may be re-seated, if additional community corrections topics arise in the future. (The Commission previously seated the Community Corrections Subcommittee that met from March to July 2009.)
This Task Force was seated to conduct a thorough analysis of the structure and functions of community corrections in Colorado. Members of the Task Force represented and collaborated with relevant groups and stakeholders such as the Governor's Community Corrections Advisory Council.

To ensure balanced representation on the Community Corrections Task Force, the CCJJ Chair and Vice-Chair employed a template to guide the appointment process. Community / Community Boards Working Group
This group is exploring untapped community partners offering programs and services that may be integrated into the community correction system and exploring the role of community corrections boards as liaisons between their respective communities and the community corrections system.Incentivizing Working Group
This group is identifying what incentives might enhance the acceptance of community corrections facilities in reluctant communities.ISP- I Working Group
This group is focused on issue surrounding Intensive Supervision of transition inmates.Judicial Education Working Group
This group is identifying information about community corrections practices and programs that would be valuable to judges when making sentencing decisions.Population Working Group
This group is exploring characteristics of the community corrections populations being served (e.g., high risk vs. low risk, high need vs. low need) and the services targeted to these populations. The group will address how best to identify and serve the high risk and high need population.Referral Process Working Group
This group is exploring evidence-based and best practices in the referral of offenders to community corrections.
System-Mapping Working Group
